PROJECT #8: SAKURA (Cherry Blossom)

Welcome to the annual spring project of SAKURA (Japanese for cherry blossom).
The project is simply about the beauty of subject matter. How you define that is your challenge.

IN CLASS DIRECTIONS: Make 20+ images as listed on the class pass.

SPRING BREAK DIRECTIONS: Be mindful of the APERTURE & ISO controls. The wider the aperture, the more out of focus the background will be.

If you have a DSLR explore your camera settings (ISO, APERTURE, SHUTTER) and make 20+ images of cherry blossoms.

In-class & over break combined, you should have 30+ images of cherry blossoms the first day after spring break.

Possible Ideas...
-overexpose the image (high key lighting. CLICK HERE)
-underexpose the image (low key lighting. CLICK HERE).
-flash at night
-a friend's hand & blossom in focus, while the rest of the background is out of focus (depth of field).

*Think outside the box.
**Can you photograph in a way that gives us an unexpected image of the subject matter?
